Senec 1The second partnership meeting within the Improving Assistance in Inclusive Educational Settings (IMAS) project was held in Senec, Slovakia, on 2-3 March 2017. Hosted by TENENET (Slovakia), the meeting was attended by representatives of Chance B (Austria), the project coordinator, as well as representatives of other project partners Agency Vision (Bulgaria), ARCIL (Portugal), CSIE (UK) and University of Graz, Austria.
The main focus of attention at the meeting was the tasks accomplished and the summary of the outcomes analysing the qualifications system and working conditions of learning and support assistants helping children with disabilities in the partner countries. The upcoming project events were also commented, including a training course in Glasgow, Austria, in July 2017, with the participation of learning and support assistants and social service specialists. The drafting of a follow-up project building on the present one was discussed, focusing on setting up training modules for assistants of children with special educational needs (SEN).Senec 2Apart from discussions held, the meeting’s attendees visited the host organisation to get acquainted with its services and users. In addition, there was a local school visit to monitor the work with children in classrooms, including children with disabilities.
